Day 1: Arrive Christchurch

On arrival into Christchurch , you will be met by our local representative and taken to collect your rental car. Transfer to your pre-arranged hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Christchurch .

Day 2: Christchurch – Mt Cook - Dunedin
After breakfast at the hotel, drive across the fertile Canterbury Plains to Lake Tekapo and the "Church of the Good Shepherd" before continuing to Mt Cook. Depart Mt Cook and head south through the historic Victorian precinct of Oamaru and the Waitaki Valley before arriving in the Scottish influenced city of Dunedin . On arrival in Queenstown, check in at your pre-arranged hotel.

Day 3: Dunedin

After breakfast at the hotel, today is at leisure to enjoy Dunedin . Included in your package is a city tour of Dunedin by double decker bus for 1 hour, and a tour of the Cadbury Chocolate Factory (including tastings!). Optional activities include a tour of the Otago Peninsula to visit the penguin, seal or albatross colonies, or a relaxing tour of New Zealand 's only castle, Larnach Castle , including a tour of the castle and the grounds.

Day 4: Dunedin - Queenstown

After breakfast at the hotel, Drive through the Central Otago farmlands today to the "Alpine Resort" of Queenstown. On arrival in Queenstown, check in at your pre-arranged hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the beautiful sights of Queenstown

Day 5: Queenstown - Milford Sound

After breakfast at the hotel, follow the southern arm of Lake Wakatipu to Lumsden, and onward to Lake Te Anau. Enter the Eglinton Valley and travel through the breath taking man-made Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. Enjoy a cruise on this world famous fiord, dominated by Mitre Peak and the cascading Bowen Falls . Return to Queenstown. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Queenstown.

Day 6: Queenstown

After breakfast at the hotel, rest of the day is at leisure to explore the endless optional attractions available. Queenstown offers bungee jumping, jet boating, white water rafting, gondola rides and much more. Overnight in Queenstown.

Day 7: Queenstown - Glacier Region

After breakfast at the hotel, depart Queenstown and travel along the shores of Lakes Wanaka and Hawea to the Haast Pass. Continue up the West Coast past spectacular mountain ranges and native forests to the glacier region of Franz Josef & Fox Glaciers. Check in at your pre-arranged hotel. Rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight in the Glacier Region.

Day 8: Glacier Region

After breakfast at the hotel, the full day is at leisure to explore this magnificent glacier region. Optional activities include a scenic fight or guided walk on one of the glaciers. Rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight in the Glacier Region.

Day 9: Glacier Region - Greymouth - Christchurch

After breakfast at the hotel, travel north to Greymouth and then turn inland towards Arthur's Pass. Ascend through lush beech forests past the alpine village of Arthur 's Pass before crossing the spectacular Southern Alps . Travel by the Waimakariri River to Christchurch . Check In at your pre-arranged hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Christchurch .

Day 10: Departure Christchurch

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and return your rental car to Christchurch airport for your onward flight.

Rates are twin share and based on a minimum of 4 Adults traveling together & valid subject to availability of services. Should there be a change in the number of passengers, the date of travel & the type of accommodation, the quote will vary accordingly and amendment fees will be applicable. Rates are subject to change without prior notice and valid for travel for Feb 2007. If the Hotels quoted for above are not available a similar category hotel will be provided. Standard check in is 1400 hours & similarly check out is 1000 hours. Wherever required we will request for early check in, however this is not guaranteed and is at the sole discretion of the management of the hotel. An advance of 30% will have to be placed with us in order to confirm all services. The balance p ayment for the above services, to be made 15 days prior to departure in Mumbai in INR as per the regulations of the RBI. Any Payments made by credit card will attract the bank fees / commission as per the prevailing policy of the banks. This is just a quotation and no services have been confirmed. A detailed itinerary will be handed over to on arrival in New Zealand

Driving In New Zealand
You can legally drive in New Zealand for up to 12 months if you have either a current driver's licence from your home country or an International Driving Permit (IDP). After 12 months you are required to convert to a New Zealand licence. This applies to each visit to New Zealand . Recent law changes mean all drivers, including visitors from other countries, must carry their licence or permit when driving. You will only be able to drive the same types of vehicles you are licensed to drive in your home country. The common legal age to rent a car in New Zealand is 21 years. Make sure your driver's licence is current. If your license is not in English, you should bring an English translation with you or obtain an IDP. Contact your local automobile club for further details about obtaining a translation or an IDP.

New Zealanders drive on the left-hand side of the road. Drivers give way (or yield) to all traffic crossing or approaching from the right. The speed limit is 100km/h on the open road and 50km/h in urban areas. You will find multi-lane motorways and expressways on the approaches to the larger cities, with most roads being dual carriageways. Signposting follows standard international symbols and all distances are in kilometres (km). Both drivers and passengers must wear a safety belt in both the front and back seats. Get plenty of sleep before a long drive. Take regular breaks - one every two hours and when you get sleepy. Do not drink alcohol before driving in New Zealand ; drinking and driving laws are strictly enforced.

Cancellations & Refunds
Any cancellations received by Quantum Travels within 7 days to 48 hours of client's arrival in New Zealand may incur an administration fee of NZD100.00 per person plus any relevant supplier cancellation fees. Cancellations received within 48 hours of client arrival in New Zealand will incur a 100% cancellation fee. Note strict cancellation charges will apply for lodge cancellations within 30 days prior to arrival. No refunds will be entertained after commencement of the tour. No refunds for tours cancelled or curtailment of Hotel Stay
